They suffer from (compared to white Americans):
(A) An educational deficit
(B) An income deficit
(C) A wealth deficit
(D) A social deficit (a generally lower social standing)
(E) A housing/neighborhood deficit
(F) A health care deficit
(G) A political power deficit
(H) Job deficits (higher unemployment)
and probably other deficits as well.
Yet, it is calimed we treat them as equals.
Since these deficits are real and undeniable (at least to most informed individuals), we have to ask ourselves some very difficult and uncomfortable questions:
(1) Are whites mostly to blame?
(2) Are African Americans mostly to blame?
(3) Can African Americans ever achieve parity with whites in America?
(4) If not, why not?
(5) If so, how so?
(6) Are African Americans inherrently inferior to whites, and therefore ultimately unable to compete and achieve parity with whites in American society?
(7) Do historical factors (slavery/segregation) explain some or all of these deficits African Americans suffer from?
I think these are all ligitamate questions that need to be discussed among all Americans.
Is anyone interested in sharing their thoughts and having a discussion? Everyone is invited to participate.
